IN-HOUSE MANUFACTURE
DUCATI HOME AUTOMATION:
INTEGRATED IN-HOUSE MANUFACTURE AND ENGINEERING EXCELLENCE
At Ducati Home Automation, total quality control is our foundational principle.
We design 100% of our systems internally and manufacture 98% of our mechanical and electric components within our proprietary industrial plant in Fidenza, Italy.
This complete ownership of the supply chain guarantees rigorous quality standards and grants us the structural flexibility required to rapidly adapt and diversify production according to specific corporate orders and global market demands.
Visionary Research & Development and Project Minimalism
Every project and product architecture within the Ducati Home® portfolio is personally coordinated by Lorenzo Cavalieri Ducati, the driving force behind the company’s technological innovation.
Combining decades of deep industry experience with a sharp engineering intuition, Lorenzo Cavalieri leads a dedicated Research & Development department comprising a tight-knit team of senior engineers, junior engineers, and technical specialists.
To consistently operate at the cutting edge of automation, this core internal team regularly interfaces with a network of highly specialized external engineering consultants for vertical technical challenges.
The overarching design philosophy is defined by absolute minimalism and structural essentiality: eliminating the superfluous to achieve perfection.
By reducing mechanical complexity and maximizing efficiency, Ducati guarantees absolute reliability, intuitive operation, and simplified long-term maintenance.
State-of-the-Art Automated Motor Manufacturing
The core of our manufacturing plant is the specialized production of low-voltage electric motors.
While competitors transitioned to Direct Current (DC) technology with a twenty-year delay, Ducati pioneered this choice in 1982, establishing powerful DC motors as an absolute standard across the entire product range, from residential to heavy-duty industrial systems.
We manufacture 100% of our electric engines internally on a fully automated, robotized production line.
The copper coils are built using exclusively top-tier H1 double-insulated wire, engineered to withstand extreme thermal stress up to 200°C.
This automated line features a high-precision 2-arm Axis winding machine, integrated welding, and custom diamond-cutting systems to guarantee perfect electrical contact and minimal mechanical friction.
An advanced robotic arm autonomously handles and advances the rotors along the line, completely eliminating human error and ensuring millimeter-level consistency.
This custom-built engine technology delivers ten times higher starting torque compared to traditional AC motors, preventing overheating during intensive duty cycles and enabling ultra-precise electronic obstacle detection in strict compliance with EU EN13241-12453 safety standards.
Precision Mechanical Engineering and Smart Supply Chain Integration
Our in-house capabilities include the complete machining and manufacturing of the core components of our gearmotors.
We internally produce our own gears, motor worm shafts, and translation lead screws, which are first machined on state-of-the-art CNC lathes and subsequently finished on high-precision thread rolling machines to achieve superior wear resistance and surface smoothness.
For highly specialized industrial processes—such as thermoplastic injection molding, aluminum die-casting, and aluminum extrusion—Ducati partners with a selected network of specialized subcontractors.
However, to preserve our technological edge, Ducati retains 100% ownership of all designs, molds, and matrices, which are engineered in-house and provided to subcontractors strictly under toll manufacturing agreements.
Energy Autonomy, Certifications, and Global Service
Our "Essential Mechanics" approach significantly reduces raw material waste (such as copper and iron), optimizing efficiency and enabling superior power autonomy.
Ducati DC systems feature native compatibility with backup batteries—ensuring up to five days of continuous operation during main power cuts—as well as 100% solar-powered configurations for remote or rural locations.
To guarantee complete compliance with global safety standards, Ducati does not rely on self-certification. Every system is independently tested and certified by international notified bodies, including Intertek, Nemko, and TÜV.
Furthermore, because we internally manufacture nearly the entirety of our components, we provide a lifetime availability guarantee on spare parts.
Operating as a unified corporate family, our multilingual technical team supports clients worldwide 24/7 (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish), ensuring an institutional partnership that extends far beyond the legal warranty period.
